New Boat Ordered
Sun. Jan 26th 2014

Station-145 is making advancements with it's River Rescue operations.  The first phase of this advancement will be the replacement of our existing River Rescue Boat, Boat-145.  We have received state grant money towards the purchase of a new Zodiac ERB inflatable water rescue boat.  These boats are designed for Rapid Deployment for Search / Rescue operations.  These are the same boats used by Allegheny County Swiftwater / Flood Response Team.  We currently have two members trained for Swiftwater Rescue operations, Angelo Gioia and Matt Styche, with others ready to start their training.  Our new boat should arrive in late February or early March.  Also, we plan to start training sessions with members of Station-139 (Elizabeth Boro V.F.C.) as they are part of the Allegheny County Swiftwater / Flood Response Team.
