Shortly before 10AM, Station 145 was dispatched for a residential fire alarm that was almost immediately reported false. While members were still in station, Station 145 was alerted for a motor vehicle accident with injuries near Swiss Alpine Village on Scenery Drive. 145 Engine went en route with 7 personnel 3 minutes after dispatch. 147 Rescue arrived on scene and tended to the patients, while 145 Engine diverted traffic away from the scene.
At 0935 this morning, Station 145 was alerted for a residential structure fire on Industry Road in Elizabeth Township. 145 Engine arrived on scene and began fire attack with 147 Engine who arrived shortly after. Crews worked on scene for over 4 hours, and were able to get the fire under control. This afternoon, Station 145 was dispatched along with Station 147 (Central) and Station 140 (Elizabeth Township) for a single vehicle crash near Butlers Golf Course on Rock Run Road. 145 Assistant arrived on scene first to report negative entrapment, and only one patient with minor injuries. Crews from 147 Rescue and 145 Engine assisted with hazard mitigation and traffic control.
While crews from Stations 140 (Elizabeth Township), 147 (Central), WM11 (Sutersville), WM800 (Westmoreland County HAZMAT) and 440 (Allegheny County HAZMAT Red Team) were operating at a vehicle rollover with entrapment, Station 145 was dispatched for a landing zone detail at Elizabeth Forward Middle School. 145 Engine set up and landed a STAT Medevac helicopter, and Southeast Regional EMS transported the patient from the scene to the waiting helicopter.
On Tuesday night after wrapping up training, Firefighter Tony Lykins was headed home when he noticed a house on fire on Industry Road. Crews were digging near the street and struck a gas line. Engine 145 responded and stood by at the hydrant. People's gas was alerted and all units cleared without incident.
